PAC-DUDE Copyright (c) 1990, 1991 by Brian O'Neill PAC-DUDE is a game that will work only on the CoCo3. You'll probably notice that the title resembles the name of a popular, well known game that has been around for many years. You have seen hundreds of copies of it, and you might be quite sick of it. However, you have never seen a really good version of it done on the CoCo3. Well, this is it. If you haven't yet figured out the more commonly known name for this game, this is a PAC-MAN game. To play the game, you must first have these files: PACDUDE .BIN PACMAIN .BIN PACOBJ .BIN PACDATA .BIN PACFOOD .BIN PACTITLE.BIN PACSND .BIN To start the game, type LOADM"PACDUDE" The program will auto execute, load in the other files, and start the game. If this does not work for you, restart the computer, go to the 32-column screen, and then push [CLEAR], [BREAK]. This will leave a blank line at the top of the screen. Now, load in the program as shown above. If a "F" appears at the top of the screen, this means that one of the files in the previous list is missing. If a "D" shows up, this is a DISK ERROR or I/O error. If a "S" appears, this is a FILE STRUCTURE error, and track 17 is screwed up on the disk. Use the left joystick for game play. The button can be used to pause the game during play. Now, I am not going to explain how to play the game, because most likely you are already familiar with PAC-MAN. If you aren't, it wont take long to figure it out. Here's how the scoring is done: 1 for eating dots 25 for eating power pellets 100 for eating the first ghost 200 for the second ghost 400 for the third ghost 800 for the fourth ghost 100 for the cherries 200 for the pear 400 for the orange 600 for the apple 800 for the fifth bonus food 1000 for the sixth bonus food 1200 for the seventh bonus food 1500 for the eighth bonus food What are the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th bonus foods? Play the game and find out. After PAC-DUDE has eaten the 8th bonus, the list starts over again at the cherries, however, everything except the 8th bonus is worth 1200. The 8th is always worth 1500. If you figure out what it is, you'll know why. If you have anything to say or ask about this program, I can be reached through FIDONET in the CoCo echo as Brian Oneill.
